Athos, Porthos, and Aramis

Athos, Porthos, and Aramis

Playing off the 1844 French historical adventure novel The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, in which the 3 main characters are known as the three inseparables, photographer Sigismund Blumann has a bit of fun projecting and substituting the names of the novels musketeers: Athos, Porthos and Aramis, for a standing row of towering California redwood trees in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The scene has been further enhanced with hand-coloring by the photographer.
